The Quanser QArm Mini is a robust and safe arm for teaching introductory manipulator robotics for undergraduate students. Its compact workspace and onboard camera are ideal for practical and engaging learning experiences. Open architecture lab material provides students with a fundamental grasp of robotic manipulator concepts, including position and velocity kinematics, pick and place, object detection and visual-servoing, with support for Python, MATLAB, Simulink, and ROS.

The QArm Mini uses a plug and play communication interface for desktop PCs via USB, as well as the QBot Platform mobile robot. When integrated into the QBot Platform, additional learning outcomes are possible, giving students further access to advanced warehouse automation lab content, and serving as an advanced mobile and manipulator robot for manipulation research.

The QArm Mini has a 4DOF configuration with triple parallel pitch axis for dexterous sagittal plane manipulation, allowing you to maintain the orientation of any picked up object. It also includes a post-wrist RGB camera that can be swiveled into two configurations. The manipulator also comes with 6 calibrated 25g masses for pick and place tasks, easily snapping to magnetic attachment points on the QArm Mini as well as QBot Platform. Finally, current sense on all joints also allows you to estimate the weight of payload with the provided kinematic formulations.
